If you want to travel abroad and you’re not sure whether the e-cigs can be packed in your luggage, now is the time to know it. Different countries and regions have formulated different rules and regulations about e-cigarettes, depending on where you live and where you want to go in the world.

I think that no one wants to start their holiday with lawbreaking. As the regulations of airlines have gotten tough and e-cigs have not been generally accepted in some countries, you might suffer the worst outcome. Thus, it is necessary to understand the facts about e-cigarettes and travel so that you can enjoy a happy holiday.

Know the Vaping Law Abroad

If you are an e-cigarette user, it’s worth noting that the sale and use of these vape devices are allowed in some countries but banned in other countries. You need to know the local vaping laws before traveling abroad.

About Carry-on: How to Transport Your E-cigarette?

TSA and FAA E-cigarette Rules

The Transportation Security Administration(TSA) and Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) prohibit any vape devices in checked baggage. This ban is due to the batteries in the devices and the risk of fire from these devices in the baggage hold.

Battery-powered E-cigarettes, vaporizers, vape pens, atomizers, and electronic nicotine delivery systems may only be carried in the aircraft cabin (in carry-on baggage or on your person).

How to Take vape liquid in Your Carry-on?

Vape liquid is also a liquid. According to the TSA Liquid Rules, if you’re carrying e-juice with you, it should be limited in quantity to a bottle no larger than 3 oz, packed into a one-quart transparent plastic bag or container.

If bringing more than 3 ounces of vaping liquid, you will have to pack this separately into your checked luggage. If this is the case, just keep in mind that the vape pen must still be carried with you on your person or in your carry-on.

E-liquids in a container larger than 100ml are prohibited by all airlines, and you should ensure all liquids must be 100ml or less.

With that in mind, it’s probably a good idea to check with your airline before you pack to make sure that you’re not breaking any rules. Otherwise, it's at risk of getting it confiscated.

How to Pack the Vape Pen Safely?

When packing for your upcoming trip, the vape pen itself will need to be placed in your hand luggage. Any extra refills and e-juice can be packed in your hold luggage. If you decide to take refills with you, it’s a great idea to place them in a plastic bag or container, as changes in cabin air pressure can cause vape tanks to leak.

The best way to take your vape on a plane is with a vape carry case. You can keep everything together by using a specific vaping case, all in one place.

There is plenty of space for the various e-liquids, batteries, and vape accessories. A vape case also makes it easy to keep track of your e-cigarette when you’re on the move, without wasting time rummaging around in the bottom of your bag.

Can I Use My E-cig on the Plane?

Rules vary depending on the airlines you are flying with. But for most airlines, it’s strictly prohibited to vape or smoke while you’re on the plane even if you can carry your vape device in your hand luggage. Notably, although you aren’t using it, you’re not allowed to charge your e-cig during flights. If you break the regulation, you could face a heavy fine. Worse case, if you’re traveling to certain foreign countries, you could be jailed on arrival.

Be sure to check with your specific airline for their rules regarding carrying or using e-cigarettes on the plane. If the airline isn’t clear when it comes to their policy around using e-cigs during the flight, it’s always safer to assume it’s not allowed and then asks.

Be Prepared for Safety

Follow these precautions before you head out to the airport.

1)Make sure your vape device is fully charged. The passengers are often prohibited to charge the battery or device on the planes.

2)Be sure the refillable tank or pod isn’t full. Pressure from the cabin can cause the tank to fill with air and force the e-liquid out.

3)Turn the vape device off so it doesn’t misfire.

Stay Safe When You Travel

If you travel with your vape device and arrive at your destination, you must follow the local law. Don’t vape in public unless it is legal. But you’d better not vape in public, the same as not smoking in the public, because the vapor smell may affect people around you. That will help you avoid problems and enjoy your trip.
